Heritage Foundation Mourns Loss of Conservative Champion

WASHINGTON, SEPT. 28,  2007Heritage Foundation President Edwin Feulner today issued the following statement on the death of John Berthoud, president of the National Taxpayers Union:

The conservative movement suffered a major blow with the death Thursday of John Berthoud, president of the National Taxpayers Union.

John was a tireless advocate for taxpayers who seemed to never stop working to advance freedom in this country.

NTU, the conservative movement, and the American taxpayer have lost a true warrior. John will be missed, but the rest of us will carry on advancing his mission: to build an America with limited government and a low tax burden.
