WASHINGTON, SEPT. 28,  2007— Heritage Foundation President Edwin Feulner today issued the following statement on the death of John Berthoud, president of the National Taxpayers Union:

The conservative movement suffered a major blow with the death Thursday of John Berthoud, president of the National Taxpayers Union.

John was a tireless advocate for taxpayers who seemed to never stop working to advance freedom in this country.

NTU, the conservative movement, and the American taxpayer have lost a true warrior. John will be missed, but the rest of us will carry on advancing his mission: to build an America with limited government and a low tax burden.
