The Center“s microsimulation specialist leads the Foundation“s efforts to build and use policy databases that analyze the effects of policy change on individuals, families, businesses, and the other social and economic units of contemporary America. This work includes but is not limited to designing and constructing databases and analytical models, producing statistical and other quantitative analyses, and providing oversight to check the accuracy, relevance, and efficiency of CDA microsimulation research. As a Senior Policy Analyst this individual is responsible for studying individual income tax, health, and retirement issues by developing analytical tools, databases and analyses that are at a comparable professional level with those developed by researchers in other leading public policy research institutions.

Education:
MA in economics or related public policy degree (Ph.D. preferred).

Experience:
Three years or more experience developing and supervising the construction of databases and models (including microsimulation models) for use with public policy analysis. Formal training or equivalent experience in using a wide variety of statistical and mathematical modeling techniques is also required.

Computers:
Ability to program in a structured language such as C or C++ and in Visual Basic or Visual Basic for Applications (VBA for Access and VBA for Excel). In addition, knowledge of MS Excel or comparable spreadsheet applications, MS Access or comparable database applications, MS Word or comparable word document applications, and SPSS or comparable statistical packages.
