Eric Korsvall has worked for The Heritage Foundation for almost a decade, and is currently Director of Administration.
In this role, he manages the administration, building operations and business support services departments at Heritage's 135,000-square foot headquarters on Capitol Hill. Korsvall has a wide range of responsibilities, including: all building operations and daily facility management; budgeting and capital planning; architectural and interior design services, construction; commercial and residential tenant oversight; space planning; building and event security; emergency preparedness and property insurance.
Under his leadership, Heritage has doubled its square footage with the expansion into the Johnson Building, next door to the think tank's headquarters, as well as the launch of a successful intern-housing program. In 2007, Korsvall was involved with another large project: A complete renovation of Heritage's building façade at 214 Massachusetts Ave N.E. Expected to be completed in April 2008, the new façade will have all new windows, a new entrance vestibule and a new balcony outside Heritage's Davis Policy Center.
Korsvall is also committed to strategically managing Heritage resources in an effective and efficient manner, whether it be directing an overhaul of the main mechanical systems, supervising a build-out of new conference space or overseeing security logistics for a visit from a head of state or senior Administration official.
Prior to assuming his current role in 2001, Korsvall worked as a project coordinator in Heritage's Coalition Relations Department. There, he managed projects and edited Policy Experts 2000 . Korsvall joined Heritage as an intern in 1998.
Korsvall earned a bachelor's degree in economics and political science and a master's degree in public administration, both from American University in Washington, D.C. Originally from Orange County, Calif., he lives in Herndon, Va., with his wife, Erin.
