Mark Harris is The Heritage Foundation's Director of Information Services, responsible for building and maintaining the think tank's digital infrastructure.
Before joining Heritage in March 2008, Harris was an information technology support specialist for eight years at Patton, Harris, Rust & Associates, a Chantilly, Va., firm. While there, he performed network administration, managed backups, provided security solutions and created disaster recovery solutions. Before that, he worked as a design engineer for the firm on various civil engineering and land development projects.
Harris received a master's degree in information technology from Virginia Tech in 2006, and has a 1994 bachelor's degree in construction management from Coventry University in England. He is certified in Microsoft Engineer W2K, Microsoft Engineer NT4 and A+.
Harris was born and raised in Wales, U.K., and moved to the United States in 1995. He lives in Centreville, Va., with his wife, Margo, and two children.
